The 2005
Internship Conference advisory committee served as the jury
for the 2005 essay competition. Every essay was judged blindly
by three committee members using a scoring system. In other
words, the jury did not know the name or location of the entrant,
but did know if the intern indicated they were a student, intern
or recently licensed architect, years of experience and the
size of their firm. The top 25 scoring essays were selected
to attend the conference. It was agreed that the selected group
represented the appropriate firm, experience, and geographic
diversity desired by the advisory committee.
