Professor Bilbeisi
has been a member of the faculty at the OSU School of Architecture
since 1993. Her primary role at OSU has been to teach in the Architectural
Design Studios, and in her twelve year tenure, she has taught students
at every level of the curriculum. In addition, for several years
Professor Bilbeisi has taught a course entitled "Architecture
and Society", which is a general survey course of architectural
history. She also developed in 1995 a course entitled "Introduction
to Architecture", and she has remained the primary instructor
for this required course directed towards all incoming freshmen
into the School of Architecture. As a result of her interest in
working with college freshmen, Professor Bilbeisi expanded her involvement
with young people by developing pre-college programs.
Professor Bilbeisi
was recognized in 1998 with a Young Teacher Award by the
National Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture, and
in 1996 she was honored by the OSU College of Engineering, Architecture
and Technology as a Halliburton Excellent Young Teacher.
Upon her graduation from OSU, she received the Dean's Outstanding
Graduate Award, the AIA School Medal, and the Alpha
Rho Chi Medal. Prior to her appointment at OSU, she was a Project
Designer for the firm of Ballinger Architects in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
